Privacy Policy
The short version
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no profiling.
- No cookies are set on your device when you read this blog.
- No account, no newsletter, no contact form, no comments.
- Your server request is logged by our host, and your browser fetches fonts from Google. That is the whole story — the details are below.
Who is responsible for your data
This blog, blog.springboot-generator.com, is published by ITGwada, SIRET 50027785000045, 26560 Séderon, FRANCE, also operating itgwada.com.
For any question about this policy or about your personal data, write to g.bernard@itgwada.com.
What data is collected
Reading this blog requires no personal information from you. The only data processed is what your browser necessarily sends to display a web page.
| Data | Why | Legal basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page, browser and operating system — recorded in the web server logs | Keeping the site available and secure, diagnosing errors, detecting abuse | Legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f GDPR), and the retention obligation French law places on hosting providers | Up to 12 months |
Light or dark theme preference, stored in your browser under the key sbg-theme |
Displaying the site in the mode you chose on your next visit | Strictly necessary to a feature you asked for | Until you clear your browser data |
These logs are not used to build a profile, are not cross-referenced with anything else, and are never sold, rented or shared for commercial purposes.
Cookies and browser storage
This blog sets no cookie when you visit it. No consent banner is shown because there is nothing to consent to.
The theme preference described above is kept in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie: it stays on your device and is never sent to the server. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
WordPress does set cookies, but only for the site administrator when signing in to manage the blog. As a reader you never receive them.
Third-party services
Google Fonts
The site’s typeface (DM Sans) is loaded from Google’s servers
(fonts.googleapis.com). To deliver the file, Google necessarily receives your
IP address and may process it outside the European Union. Google does not set a cookie for
this request, but it is a transfer of data to a third party and you should know about it.
See Google’s privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted by OVH (OVH SAS, France), on servers located in the European Union. OVH processes the server logs described above on our behalf. See OVHcloud’s data protection page.
Outbound links
This blog links to springboot-generator.com and to other external sites. Once you follow such a link you are on a different site, governed by its own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
What this site never does
- No audience measurement or analytics (no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no equivalent).
- No advertising, no retargeting, no social network pixels.
- No newsletter and no mailing list — there is nothing to subscribe to.
- No reader accounts: registration is disabled.
- No comments: they are closed on every article, so no name, email or IP address is collected from readers.
- No sale, rental or exchange of data with anyone.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, write to g.bernard@itgwada.com. Please note that server logs are identified only by IP address: to act on a request we may need you to tell us the address and the approximate dates concerned, and if we cannot identify you we may be unable to comply.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
Children
This blog covers software development topics and is not directed at children under 16. No data is knowingly collected from them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change if the site itself changes — for instance if comments, a newsletter or audience measurement were added one day. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest revision.
